Once you take a left onto Raynolds, heading east, the road gets pretty rough! But at the end you are rewarded by Fossil Beach!

As a lifelong visitor to the island this is one of my favorite places! In the late 1980's when I rode the mountain bike in this area it was seriously unimproved and wild. The Alvar wilderness at the beginning of this route is not to be missed since it is rare and likely to disappear with climate change

Rode this in July 2021 after heavy rains. Lots of large puddles/ponds on the road, so there was no way of avoiding the water. Wear bug spray! The flies can be BAD!
