Once in Ironwood "forest" trail gets sandy but just rideable. NOTE west 0.5 mile "u-turn" in bushwhack across private property. and then rough jeep road East
Yep, remote, rocky, lotsa sandy washes, awesome desert biking! We rode it on a gravel bike without shocks on 700x34; Love to dance the loose stuff. Plenty of open BLM dispersed camping too. Only issue is the western end of Manville Rd is a private ranch with fences blocking the trails that show on Google maps.
this route could get you hurt. so much sand on West Manville Rd we couldn’t ride on our gravel bikes with 700x40. not to mention the mud from the rains. we cut the west side off by cutting across the desert. if something bad happened out there and you needed to be rescued it would take a high clearance 4x4 to get out there. that’s if they could find you.
this is not worth doing in its entirety because of the sand.
Safe assumption I could camp out on that west point?
