Scenic route follows the Winnebago, Shell Rock and Cedar River from Mason City to Cedar Falls or reverse from Cedar Falls to Mason City. Great food small towns with food along the way. Best camping in Mason City, Rockford, Shell Rock and Cedar Falls. Mostly gravel with a few short segments of paved roads.

A good alternate route for the Marble Rock/Rockford section is the Tosanak gravel segment. This avoids a short but higher traffic section going east west from Marble Rock.
