Rode this one recently (Sep 2022) and would recommend for ADV & Mountain Bikes. Well graded gravel throughout - mixture of pea sized over hardpack to straight hardpack with the most technical thing being washboard patches. Just take it slow around lots of blind turns on a road that's ~1.5 lanes wide. If you prefer climbs over descents, do this from the TN side as that's got the steeper grade with a more gradual descent down NC side.
